For your body:
– long underwear (1-2)
– woolen socks (2)
– quick dry pants (1)
– pair of shorts
– a flannel/woolen shirt or light fleece
– a heavier woolen sweater or heavier fleece
– a rain jacket (waterPROOF, not just rain resistant)
– rain pants (you want to be able to sit around on wet rocks if need be)
– a toque
– gloves
– sneakers
– a 2nd pair of shoes for around camp (in case your other pair got wet in the canoe)
For your sleeping comfort:
– a tent
– a sleeping bag
– a Therma rest or sleeping pad of some kind
– a pillow (I don’t bring a pillow but use bundled up clothing)
– a candle lantern (I always bring a little light I can hang from my tent…of course your headlamp works too)
For around the campsite:
– a headlamp (essential to have some kind of light)
– an axe (unless you plan on buying wood and kindling)
– a chair (a luxury but so worth it; i’m not talking soccer mom lawn chair, but a camping chair that folds and is light-weight)
– a camera, book, journal
For the kitchen:
– personal table essentials (bowl, plate, fork, spoon, knife, cup)
– pot, pan, wooden spoon, spatula, cutting knife,
– camp stove (unless you prefer cooking over the open fire)
– food barrel (we enjoy a food barrel because we can just lock it up at night, and maybe avoid a pack hanging)
